Roosevelt Nix Scouting Report

May 22, 2013

DE/OLB ROOSEVELT NIX 511 250, Kent State

Unique, freakish handful with top production but lacking a prototypical positional fit.

Super explosive with elite closing speed.

Very good change of direction.

Very physical and powerful at the point of attack.

Excellent first step off the ball.

Plays with a naturally low pad level; plays lower than anyone in the trenches.

Consistently disengages quickly and violently with upper body strength and hand use.

Often rushes from the interior as a three-technique and from the five-technique in the 3-4.

Is an elite interior penetrator; is a mismatch with his combination of leverage, athleticism, and power.

Utilizes a devastating swim move and spins.

Top motor, chasing plays downfield.

Versatile but also lacks a defined, projected NFL position.

Squatty build. Lacks length and probably lacks the bulk to hold up full time on the interior at the next level.
